2. Information stored on the device

FlowLedger is an income and expense tracking application. The following information is generally stored locally on the user's device:

Income and expense records
Dates, amounts, merchants, and transaction details
Categories and projects
Notes entered by the user
Receipt photos attached by the user

Core financial records are not automatically uploaded to a server operated by the developer. Users can edit or delete these records within the app.

3. Receipt OCR and AI processing

Receipt analysis is an optional feature initiated by the user. When the user selects a receipt image and requests analysis, the app transmits that image over an encrypted connection to Google services, including Firebase AI Logic and Gemini API.

The image is processed to attempt to extract information such as:

Merchant or seller name
Receipt date
Total amount and purchase information

Users may choose not to use OCR and may enter information manually. OCR results may be inaccurate, and users should review and correct all extracted information before saving it.

The project used by FlowLedger is connected to Cloud Billing and accesses Gemini API as a Paid Service. Under Google's terms for Paid Services, Google states that prompts, images, and responses are not used to improve Google's products. Google may nevertheless log prompts and responses for a limited period solely for abuse prevention, service safety, and required legal or regulatory disclosures.

The developer does not intentionally store receipt images or OCR content in a developer-operated server database.

4. Technical information that may be collected

FlowLedger uses Firebase services for application configuration and security. These services may automatically collect technical information including:

Approximate country-level location information, such as a country code inferred from the connection
Language, time zone, operating system, and platform version
App version, package name, and Firebase App ID
A Firebase Installation ID, which identifies an app installation and does not directly identify an individual person
Device metadata and Firebase SDK versions
Play Integrity and App Check tokens used to verify legitimate app requests and prevent unauthorized access

This information is used to provide application functionality, control OCR availability, deliver suitable configuration, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect Firebase services.

5. Disclosure and service providers

The developer does not sell personal data and does not use user data for advertising or marketing. The current version of FlowLedger does not display advertisements.

Some information may be processed by Google as a service provider or data processor necessary to provide:

Firebase AI Logic and Gemini API for receipt OCR
Firebase Remote Config for feature configuration
Firebase Installations for app installation identification
Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity for security

These providers may use subprocessors to operate and maintain their services. For more information:

6. Security practices

FlowLedger uses HTTPS/TLS encryption for information transmitted to Firebase and Google services. The app also uses Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity to help prevent unauthorized requests.

No security system can guarantee absolute protection. Users should avoid submitting images containing information that is not required for receipt analysis, such as passwords, PINs, or other confidential credentials.

7. Data retention and deletion

Local data

Income records, expense records, and locally stored images remain on the device until the user deletes them, clears the app's data, or uninstalls the app.

OCR processing data

Receipt images and OCR results sent to Gemini API may be retained by Google for a limited period for service security, abuse prevention, and legal or regulatory requirements, in accordance with Google's policies.

User accounts

FlowLedger does not provide account creation or user login. The developer does not operate a server-side user-account database. Therefore, there is no remote account-deletion or account-data deletion request system.

8. Children and minors

FlowLedger is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. The app is not designed or marketed for children, and the developer does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when application features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The latest effective date will be shown at the top of this page.
